Mid-America Bank – Jefferson City, MO
Type of work: Structural Engineering,
Located at a high-visibility intersection in Jefferson City, the new two-story Mid-America Bank combines durability with thoughtful design. The structure was framed with conventional steel and features cast-in-place concrete floors on metal deck.
Notable aspects of the project included extensive rock excavation and grading to achieve the finished floor elevations, as well as a specially reinforced slab beneath the pre-fabricated bank vault — designed with enhanced security in mind. The roof design is both functional and architectural: traditional steel joists and metal deck form the perimeter, supporting cold-formed steel trusses that shape the distinctive mansard roof. Inside the roofline, a composite concrete deck supports a hidden mechanical courtyard, with the mansard roof effectively screening rooftop equipment from view.
