The Kirksville Crosswalk Study involved a comprehensive operational and safety assessment of 20 existing crosswalk locations and 21 potential crosswalk sites near key educational institutions, including A.T. Still University, Truman State University, Moberly Area Community College, Kirksville R-III School Campus, and other private schools. The study included on-site observation, speed analysis, crash history review, and evaluation of MUTCD and ADA compliance. The purpose of this study was to improve pedestrian safety and accessibility by identifying and prioritizing crosswalk improvements based on current conditions and anticipated needs. Findings will guide the city in enhancing pedestrian infrastructure and traffic management at critical points near these schools.
