Discovery Parkway Extension
Type of work: Transportation Engineering,
The Discovery Parkway Roadway Extension Project in Columbia, Missouri, provided a crucial arterial connection between the Discovery Parkway interchange on U.S. Highway 63 and Rolling Hills Road. This 1.5-mile-long project included the construction of two bridges, a box culvert, 7,500 linear feet of storm sewer, and a bioretention cell for sustainable stormwater management. Designed as a future four-lane parkway, the roadway was constructed with two lanes in the initial phase to accommodate phased development. The project enhances regional connectivity and supports future growth while integrating environmentally conscious design elements.
