City Of Marceline Old East Reservoir Spillway & Dam Repairs

Project Information:

The City of Marceline, Missouri’s Old East Reservoir spillway was severely eroded from prolonged high water and the dam was threatened in 2008. With FEMA funding, a subsurface exploration was performed after spillway flows decreased; a geotechnical report was developed and a new spillway with an internal drainage system and anchored stilling basin was designed. Staged cofferdams and a diversion channel were incorporated to remove the old spillway from service so that the new reinforced concrete spillway could be constructed under dry conditions. And old pump station sited in the earth dam was removed and relocated and the embankment was repaired. Allstate performed the geotechnical investigation and design work as well as the construction administration, observation and testing.
